June Event Highlights at Deer Trail Assisted Living
June will be a busy month at Deer Trail Assisted Living. We have our regularly scheduled light and lively exercise, seatworks exercise, Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance, and games from bingo for bucks, brain teasers, and craft projects and movie nights for residents. Here are some other highlights:

  • June 7 – Mall Shopping Trip
  • June 9 – Deer Trail Birthday Celebration for Residents and Staff born in June
  • June 12 – Painting for Pleasure with Linda
  • June 14 – Ice Cream Social followed by Resident Council Meeting
  • June 16 – Residents and Families Father’s Day Picnic
  • June 18 – Happy Father’s Day!
  • June 19 – Load Bus for Dinner & “Remember When, Flaming Gorge” at Young at Heart
  • June 27 – Load the Bus for the Shrine Circus

Young at Heart Birthday Celebration for Seniors in Rock Springs
Location: Young at Heart Center
Address: 2400 Reagan Ave, Rock Springs, WY 82901 
The Young at Heart Center has proudly served the Rock Springs and Sweetwater County community since its founding in 1973. Originally designated to serve the community’s senior population, in 2009 with construction of our new facility, services and amenities were incorporated to address the needs of the entire community. Now, the Center offers programs and services for residents of all ages;  child day care, education outreach, senior meals, in-home health services, and public-use space for meetings and events. The second Friday of the month we celebrate seniors born in that month with a birthday cake and ice cream. This event is sponsored by Deer Trail Assisted Living. If you are a senior in the area come join the fun.

Young at Heart Golf Tournament & Benefit
Location: White Mountain Golf Course
This is the 11th Annual Young at Heart Golf Tournament benefiting Young at Heart programs. The event is sponsored by the Rock Springs Young at Heart Foundation and White Mountain Golf Course. For more information and to set up a team contact Maxine at 307-871-1659.

Golden Hour Senior Center
550 Uinta Dr, Green River, WY 82935
The Golden Hour Senior Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM. They have many activities and exercise programs such as Zumba Gold, line dancing, Wii Bowling and pool tournaments, daily word searches and trivia. They also have a game room for puzzles, bingo, Bunco, poker, Pinochle, Mahjongg and others. Deer Trail Assisted Living offers a support group at the Center and on occassion we serve free cake and ice cream.

2nd Annual Summer Festival at Young at Heart
Location: Young at Heart Center

The Rocky Mountain Alzheimer’s Summit

The Rocky Mountain Alzheimer’s Summit is scheduled for June 13th, 14th, & 15th, 2017, at the Little America Conference Center in Cheyenne, WY. The theme of the summit is “Making a Difference Now: The Best Care Possible for Individuals with Dementia.” June 13th is the Pre-Conference Workshop featuring Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA; one of America’s leading educators on dementia. The goal of the Summit is to provide healthcare professionals, direct care workers, older adults, and caregivers of individuals with dementia with up-to-date education about improving the lives of those with Alzheimer’s disease and those who provide care for these individuals.
